- File manager
- Mobile-friendly emails
- Free stock images

-
I have been using Mailerlite for one of my other businesses for about 6 years now, and I will say that they continue to make improvements in an effort to best serve their customers.
On the other hand, I will say that Mailerlite isn’t really offering anything that stands out from the competition. What you get here, you could also get with Aweber, ConvertKit, or one of the other popular email marketing services.
The only thing that may make Mailerlite more desirable than the other options is the pricing which we will discuss later.
Aweber Key Features
I have used Aweber to manage email campaigns for clients. And I will say that you can definitely create professional emails using their platform.
Here are a few of the available features:
- Create images in Canva directly in Aweber
- Email automation
- Subscriber segmentation
- Drag & drop editor
- Free stock images
- Forms and Landing pages
- Analytics
- Pre-built templates
- E-commerce integrations
- Developer API
- Integrations with popular platforms such as WordPress, SquareSpace, ClickFunnels, and more.
As you may have noticed, Aweber offers pretty much all of the same key features as Mailerlite. And the ability to create and edit images in Canva without ever leaving your Aweber account is a really cool and unique feature.
ConvertKit Key Features
Lastly, we will take a look at ConvertKit, and see how it measures up to Aweber and Mailerlite.
Here is a snippet of ConvertKit’s key features:
- Never double-charged for the same customer
- Advanced automations
- Automatic opt-in delivery
- Mobile-responsive emails
- Drag and drop templates
- Forms and landing pages
- Subscriber segmentation
- Analytics
- A/B testing
- E-commerce integrations
- Developer API
- Automatically process duplicate subscribers
- Automatically drop unsubscribers
ConvertKit is built with creators in mind, and the tools they offer really provide everything you need from an email marketing standpoint. ConvertKit is the preferred Email Marketing Platform for Creators.
Ease of Use & Customer Support
Mailerlite offers 24/7 customer support via email. Live chat is only available with a premium plan. I have not personally used their customer support, but there is support available to you. They also have a well-organized Knowledge base that may answer many of your questions and provide you with guidance.
As far as ease of use, I think the Mailerlite platform is simple enough that even a beginner could easily navigate it. The dashboard shows your last sent campaign, an overview of your subscribers, your selected plan, a graph showing subscriber growth, monthly campaign stats, active automation workflows, and your forms.
I love how clean, easy-to-find, and easy-to-read the Mailerlite dashboard is.
Their drag and drop builder is super easy to use for building out your emails, and if you have a premium plan you can take advantage of the wide variety of templates.
Overall, Mailerlite is very user-friendly and is great for beginners based on ease of use.
Aweber offers 24/7 customer service via phone, live chat, and email. This gives them an advantage over Mailerlite and ConvertKit as far as customer support goes. They also have a knowledge base and video tutorials available.
However, the Aweber interface is a lot more complicated than both Mailerlite and ConvertKit. There is a lot going on in the dashboard and it can quickly get overwhelming. I also think their email builder can come with a bit of a learning curve.
Aweber can definitely take some time getting used to, and it can be a bit confusing for beginners.
ConvertKit does not offer live chat or phone support. They do have a knowledge base and Creator Community.
The ConvertKit interface is clean and easy to understand. Someone not familiar with ConvertKit at all could easily navigate their platform which is really great.
Pricing
Mailerlite
I highly recommend that you take a look at Mailerlite’s pricing chart to get a better understanding of how their fees work out.
They do offer a Free Plan available for up to 1,000 subscribers. After 1,000 subscribers you can pay as little as $15/month for a monthly plan that includes up to 2,500 subscribers. Then the prices continue to increase depending on the size of your mailing list which is typical. You can see the screenshots below to give you a better idea.
*It’s important to note that once you pass 600,000 subscribers, you need to reach out to customer support for pricing.
Aweber
- Free
- 0-500 subscribers
- Pro
- 0-500 subscribers- $24.99/mo
- 501-2,500 subscribers- $34.99/mo
- 2,501-5,000 subscribers- $54.99/mo
- 5,001-10,000 subscribers- $74.99/mo
- 10,001-25,000 subscribers- $154.99/mo
*Once you pass 25,000 subscribers, you will need to reach out to customer support for pricing.
ConvertKit offers a free plan for up to 1,000 subscribers as well as a free trial for all plans. The pricing can vary greatly so I highly recommend checking out ConvertKit’s pricing page to get a better idea of their pricing structure.
I will say that on the lowest end for monthly plans, you’d have a free plan or pay $59/mo for Creator Pro for up to 1,000 subscribers. On the highest end of monthly plans for Creator Pro for up to 400,000 subscribers, you can expect to pay $2,599/mo.
